DO wear gloves and closed toe shoes at all times, and have clothing and sun-block to protect you from the sun.
DO make sure all children are supervised by an adult.
DO stay in teams of at least 3 people.
DO avoid over-exertion, sunburn, heat exhaustion, and dehydration. When in doubt, come in early. It's better to be safe than sorry.
DO be cautious in the fragile areas.
DO make sure you have signed a liability waiver.
DO NOT's:
DO NOT pick up dead animals, or attempt to move an injured animal -- call the Site Captain or a City staff.
DO NOT pick up syringes, needles, any sharp objects, condoms, tampons, waste materials or anything that looks like it comes from a hospital. Mark the area with a ring of stick or stones and notify the Beach Captain or lifeguard.
DO NOT go near any large metal drums (other than trash cans). They may contain hazardous materials.
DO NOT lift anything too heavy; when in doubt, don't.
DO NOT go in the water, turn your back on the creek, or leave children unsupervised or go on any rocky or unsafe terrain.
DO NOT clean near any flowing storm drain outlets.
DO NOT pick up any weapons
DO NOT go under any unlighted, deserted, or unsafe areas.

Notify your volunteers of any dangerous places to avoid.
Keep boundaries in mind and return BEFORE 12 NOON!
